Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Speech Therapist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will undergo initial training with an experienced South African Speech Therapist before transitioning to full-time work. The role will involve close collaboration with our ABA team to develop and implement individualized speech and language interventions tailored to the needs of each child.
Key Responsibilities:
● Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for children with Autism and other developmental challenges.
● Develop individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable goals.
● Deliver one-on-one and group speech therapy sessions.
● Collaborate closely with ABA therapists to integrate speech and language goals within ABA programs.
● Provide training and guidance to ABA team members on strategies to support communication development.
● Maintain accurate and detailed progress notes and reports.
● Participate in regular team meetings and multidisciplinary case discussions.
● Communicate effectively with parents/caregivers, providing them with strategies to support communication skills at home.
● Contribute to the development of communication aids and visual supports.
● Stay updated with the latest research and best practices in speech therapy.
Key Qualifications and Requirements:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Speech Therapy
● Where appropriate a valid certification/licensure to practice as a Speech Therapist (recognized by relevant regulatory bodies).
● Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children with Autism or other developmental disorders (experience with ABA-integrated programs is highly desirable).
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
● Willingness to travel for ongoing professional development.
● Passion for working with children and helping them achieve their communication potential.
